Um. Ouch. The Slay-ride in action

Post by Axle Adams »

This is easily one of the best hits I've seen in derby. Gotham's Beyonslay just crushing Texas' Rice Rocket on Saturday.

How Rice just popped back up, I dunno. One funny thing to watch in the slo-mo is the Gotham Skater on the bench who just falls to her knees at the sight of it.

As Beyonslay put it, she couldn't have done it without the help of a ouple teammates, one who covered her up front so she knew she could go in for the big hit, and one who gave her the push so she could get up there and in position.

Thus, this shows the power of teamwork! Work together and you can do some amazing things! \w/

Hot damn. That is amazing! It even looked legal to me (I like how she dumps Rice Rocket off her back right inside the line, ha) -- do you know what she got called out on? I saw her skating off to the box a few seconds later.

From earlier in the video, it looks like the Penalty Chaser was telling the refs to pull her for 4 minors earlier in the jam.

I saw this as well. What a BIG hit. But I found somewhere else that it was four minors she got pulled out for not the hit. Hit totally legal. SCARY! That type of hit is so deadly, especially when you have to booty to do it. \w/

It looked like Rice Rocket actually saw Beyonslay coming and cut behind her, but there was a little more to cut behind than Rice Rocket expected.
Beautiful hit. Beautiful teamwork. That's what this sport is all about.
